How the first NNAPA course is going

Natural PerfumeryWe are into March and NNAPA students are well into the Evaluations unit of the course. The evaluations can be tedious because there are almost a hundred essences in the NNAPA kit. It's not something that can be rushed either and it is perhaps the most important part of the course. Working with evaluations is like building up an essence library in your head, a library that is connected to your olfactory system. With lots of practice students will be able to draw up certain essences in that library when they need to find something that will lend a particular note to a blend they are working on. Students will be having lot's of fun comparing their findings with those of other students and it's interesting when they get really different results from a particular essence. After the evaluations unit is over students will be moving on to the Creating Perfume on Paper unit and then after that the real fun will begin.
